Petco vs. Pets Best Insurance

Petco’s accident and illness plan covers your veterinary bills if your dog or cat gets sick or injured. The most expensive type of vet bills occur when pets need emergency care, long-term medications or surgery for serious illnesses or injuries. These plans can save you thousands of dollars if your pup or kitten suffers from a serious health issue.

Pets Best also offers excellent accident and illness coverage that will protect you against unexpected vet bills. They actually offer three different levels of accident and illness coverage so there is an option for every budget. One big differentiation point is that Pets Best offers optional wellness care to help pay for routine care expenses like dental cleanings and annual vaccinations.

Expert Tip:

Petco and Pets Best are both solid options, but the key to getting the best value is to compare plans and prices. The reason? Every pet insurance company charges different prices based on your pets breed, age and where you live. In fact, the same pet could be priced 50% more or less for the same level of coverage! So, before you choose a plan, check out prices for at least three companies to make sure you get the best value possible for your pet.
