In addition to over 20 years of excellent service, Hartville has evolved and improved it’s coverage over the years. Like many of their early contemporaries, policies had too many restrictions and exclusions to appeal to the masses. However, as Hartville grew and learned their plans did as well.

Today Hartville offers comprehensive pet insurance plans through multiple brands. They are a true leader in the space and one of the safest bets when it comes to insuring your pets health.

What Does Hartville Cover?

Hartville offers a variety of options including standard accident and illness coverage, accident-only coverage and preventative care plans. All plans are eligible for dogs and cats. Hartville offers coverage for dogs and cats in all 50 states.

Accident and Illness Coverage – Accident and illness plans are the most popular type of coverage. These plans cover any unexpected vet bills related to emergency care, surgery, meds, etc.
Accident Only Coverage – Hartville’s accident-only plan covers accidents only and excludes illnesses. That is why we do not recommend this level of coverage.
Wellness Coverage – Hartville offer two levels of wellness care coverage depending on your desired monthly budget.

How Much Does Hartville Cost?

Hartville is competitive when it comes to pricing. Pet parents can customize their plan by choosing a deductible and coinsurance that suit your needs. Additionally, they offer preventative coverage for routine and annual care expenses for an additional monthly cost.

Insurance Prices

Accident and illness and accident-only insurance plans vary in price depending on your pet’s breed and age. Generally speaking, mixed breed pets and younger pets are less expensive to insure than purebreds and older pets.

Preventative Care Plans

Unlike insurance coverage, Hartville’s preventative care plans have a fixed price. There are two plans to choose from:

Basic – $9.95/month for $250 annual benefit
Prime – $24.95/month for $450 annual benefit
