Himalayan cats are also referred to as Himalayan Persian and Colorpoint Persian. This is because the Himalayan is a cross-breed between Persian and Colorpoint cats. The breed dates back to the early 1930’s and was officially accepted as it’s own breed in the mid 1950’s.
