Policy Exclusions
Hartville Pet Insurance will not pay for costs associated with or resulting from the following:
Pre-existing Conditions
Note: Hartville will no longer consider a condition to be pre-existing if it has been cured and free of symptoms and treatment for 180 days, with the exception of knee and ligament conditions. If a knee or ligament condition occurs before the coverage effective date or during a waiting period, any future ones won’t be covered.
Cosmetic Procedures
Includes elective procedures, such as tail docking, ear cropping, and claw removal.
Breeding Costs
Includes costs associated with breeding or pregnancy.
Preventive Care
Coverage for preventive care, like annual wellness exams, vaccines, and screenings, is not included in accident and illness plans. However, you can add preventive care coverage to a plan.
Requirements of Policy Holders
The upper age limit for enrollment is 20 years old.
Claims
You can use the Hartville Pet Insurance app or online customer portal to submit your claims directly. Alternatively, you can fax, mail, or email your claim form with invoice(s) within 270 days from the date of treatment.
