Healthy Paws Pet Insurance Enrollment Requirements
- 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia*
- Must be enrolled before 6 for hip dysplasia coverage
- Minimum age: 8 weeks
- Maximum age: 14 years (4 years in New York state)
- A pet less than 6 years old on the date of enrollment must have undergone a complete clinical examination and the exam must have taken place either 12 months before the pet policy effective date or within 15 days following the pet policy effective date
- A pet 6 years old or older on the date of enrollment must have undergone a complete clinical examination within 30 days before the pet policy effective date or 15 days following the pet policy effective date
Embrace Pet Insurance Enrollment Requirements
- There is a $25 enrollment fee.
- The maximum enrollment age for full accident and illness coverage is 14 years old.
- Pets older than 15 are eligible for an accident-only policy.
- The minimum age for enrollment is six weeks.
- Pets must be examined by a licensed veterinarian 12 months before the policy start date. If there is no noted exam before the policy start date, an exam is required within the first 14 days of the policy.
- Pet parents can cancel policies immediately over the phone with no penalty.
- Claims must be submitted within the policy year plus 60 days.
